How I built my custom 60% mechanical keyboard.

Building a mechanical keyboard was a rewarding experience—it married my love of technology with hands-on crafting. Here's the step-by-step process for building it:

3D-Printed Case Prep

Design of the Case: My CAD software for this project was Fusion 360. I designed my keyboard case to ensure it accommodated all my components.

Print the Case: I built with a 3D printer using white PLA filament. Sandpaper was used after printing to make a smooth surface finish for the case.

Preparing the PCB

Inserting Switches: For this build, I have used Gateron white switches because they are lighter in terms of actuation force and feel great and smooth while pressing down on keys.

Switches to be Soldered: With a soldering iron, I soldered the switches.

Fitting the RGB Board:

Placing the RGB Board: I placed the RGB board over the PCB.

Attaching the RGB Board: I attached the RGB board using the proper connectors to the PCB.

Attaching of PORON Foam:

Cutting and Placing the Foam: I trimmed down my PORON foam to act as backing for my PCB and placed it to reduce vibration and typing noise.

Battery Assembly and Type-C Connector:

Battery Placement: The battery was placed firmly in the case so that there wouldn't be a movement from its place that could interfere with some other element. Attached is the battery to the PCB and fixed the Type-C port.

Building this keyboard was a journey of precision, involving a very unique and high-performance device that I'm proud to use every day.
